Having rubbed shoulders with the likes of Marco Carola, Ilario Alicante, Marcel Dettman, Shlomi Aber and Joseph Capriati – Italian producer Umberto Pagliaroli presents ‘Pick Pocket’ – some shifty Tech-House tracks with serious mobility that are guaranteed to heat the floor.
The title track kicks us off with the sort of mischievous groove that is favoured by the likes of Gene On Earth, Sweely and Alec Falconer. A central organ riff runs like a dynamo at the heart of the track, increasing in temperature as it spins while sharp, sprightly drums flesh out a boisterous mood.
‘We Trouble’ offers up a complementary counterpart, injecting a healthy dose of Bassline and UKG into the record. Another scorching bass line generates infectious momentum while playful samples are dashed in keeping things fresh and eminently fun. A burning breakdown refuses to let off the gas as it stretches out, trembling with pre-eruptive tension before letting loose with a vibe that’ll tear the roof clean off.
