::Shir Khan Presents Black Jukebox 17::
More disco-house gold from Shir Khan. Four new fine cuts on Black Jukebox 17 featuring Martin Lewis & Aussteiger. Lewis kicks things off on side A with “Lifted” and “Feel Good”. The former takes a bouncy midtempo groove and then gets to work on the low pass filter, teasing in a soulful hook that as yet escapes me. Quite an understated way to open the EP and a different angel for Mr Khan’s Jukebox – nonetheless very stimulating! “Feel Good” keeps to the formula, another understated soul / rare groove hook being looped around a crisp, syncopated beat at a very smooth 110BPM. Aussteiger takes care of house work on the flip, “Taperock” kick starting the shoulders as we venture out onto the terrace to bask in the sun and get our wiggle on while “Baracao” takes us into later territory; sweaty, balmy and covered in a post-coital glow. Music for the club but in some hot, Balearic location. Its another winner for the label, as usual move quick if you want a piece of the pie.
