‘Power’ kicks us off with a certain Electro sheen and a caustic finish. Android sonics fizz over a rich, swelling bass that creates a deep, oceanic bed for a sleek but jagged groove. Tractor beam synths sends shards of colour outwards before an unexpectedly tender pad bleeds like a river into the sea. Full of twists and turns, this is another slice of highly functional club gear.
‘Future’ follows with a joining of dots between between Tech House, Prog and Acid. Drums are angular, accurate and direct and the groove is lively, fresh and bubbly. Adroit management of energy has the flow steadily tunnelling forwards, winding with all of the technicolour twists of the Rainbow Road.
‘No’ finishes up with some gorgeous harmonics for the afters astronauts. A gently buoyant groove carries a cosy charm reminiscent of Pepe Bradock’s ‘Path of Most Resistance’. Woozy pads marry with neat, snippy drums and the result is a perfectly poised, silken soundtrack – the sort that has you clinging on to your best ones, swapping cigs and recalling raves of old.
