Sandboards Remix premiered by Insomniac:
“New Zealand newcomers Sandboards have been making a name for themselves, thanks to solid releases on labels such as Bicep’s Feel My Bicep and Cold Tonic. The house-minded duo, consisting of Eden Burns and Tomas Krammer, have even put in enough work to land them a slot on the legendary Rinse FM. Even though they have a lot of irons in the fire, between playing out and releasing new music, they did find time to sneak in a solid remix. Soundboards have just added their own flavor to an upcoming release by James Curd on the Exploited label.”

Phenomenal Handclap Band Remix premiered by Soundspace:
“Taking the bouncy energy of I’m A Wheel, the Brooklyn duo transform the title track into a harmonising and stern dancefloor thumper. Warming sound design and catchy grooves stand tall beside the meaty drum samples and fun percussion.”

James Curd follows up his superb ‘Show Me What You Got’ release for Exploited with another pair of outstanding dancefloor jams, backed by some quality remixes as always.

Buddy Zapha features on vocals on ‘I’m A Wheel’. His falsetto delivery glides over Curd’s light, skippy house beat beautifully, with elasticated bass ascending and descending over swung percussion and a simple piano chord motif.

Sandboards (Feel My Bicep/Rinse) strip back the majority of the vocals, chopping up the pianos and pumping the bass up to make for a chunky alternative. Phenomenal Hand Clap Band take things on a deep disco odyssey on their remix, making great use of the background vocals and drafting in some groovy clavinets for added flavour and depth.

‘Fade Away’ is the EP’s second original track, where tinkling pianos meeting rousing horn blasts, jazzy guitar licks, acid lines and wiggling bass. Brilliantly arranged with many twists and turns, this deeply musical slice of house music is classy and infectious.
