::gizA djs – Saturacid::
That formidable Italian duo gizA djs are back on fine form here on Exploited Club with a trio of inventive, colourful, hard-hitting cuts for a multitude of dancefloors.
‘Saturacid’ takes its cues from Italo where pulsing bass underpins trippy pitch-shifting vocals and tough drums and a great use of modulation and effects to breathe life into the proceedings. Melody slowly creeps in through wide chords and delicate dabs of floaty pianos, and the track just keeps building incessantly. Ride cymbals propel the energy along with a huge lead riff and intense FX risers, creating a frenzied crescendo that feels like it could go on forever.
‘Shouter Louder’ bounces along with a funky groove while dramatic laser beam hits and techno percussion bring the intensity. Soaring ‘80s synth melodies rise as the arrangement strips back to an atmospheric chug, making for a beguiling mix of sounds and moods that works quite brilliantly.
‘Salvation’ pushes the envelope further with a little help from HU, rocking a pacey breakbeat and an almost glitchy sense of melody played out through fast-modulating bleeps. Beautiful vocal cuts and super-uplifting pads and textures give this track a euphoric edge, and it sounds like little else out there.
