E.T.H (Italy) follows up releases for Luuk Van Dijk’s Dark Side of the Sun, Limousine Dream sub label Limo Bytes and Jamie Jones’ Hottrax with a pack of chunky, widescreen jackin’ minimal deep house funk, early tech and trippy italo prog that is equal parts balmy and burly – the strain championed by the likes of Sally C, Peach and Shanti Celeste.

The title track kicks us off with snippy, high-tech hats shuffling over a dogged kick and clap combo. A gambolling bassline charges in and fires up some prime-time energy while a proggy laser beam boars a hole through the groove. A playful synth enters – moving in lockstep with the bass giving the track a thick, layered complexity that carries a hefty dose of forward motion.

‘Techno Infernal’ pulls hard on the Funk lever allowing a rubbery bass line to stride confidently through the low end. Joyous, sun kissed vocals decorate the track while bold synths layer up to build a wave of cascading pleasure propelled beyond the stratosphere by tough, full pelt drums.

‘Amstel’ finishes the pack and carries the bright and busy energy right up to the end. An arsenal of 90s and 00s sonics are interlaced and turbocharged by another surging bass line that bubbles towards the first break. Enter a monstrous, floor-melting synth and the vibe is notched up to fever pitch – a fitting close to a record packed with vitality and dance floor drama.
