Ukrainean talent AIKON is back on Exploited Ghetto showing us more of his magical skills that have also landed him on other leading labels like Disco Halal and Sol Selectas.
Re.You provides one of his typically excellent remixes, beginning in similar fashion to the original but with a more instantaneous focus on the hovering bass. The stripped-back arrangement slowly gathers weight, with dazzling synth cascades in the breakdown unfolding into the track and blurring in and out of focus, serving as a main hook of sorts. There’s more of a tribal lilt to the beat too, with some percussive inflexion that makes the groove work harder.
Armonica dives into more brooding territory with a techier touch played out in chord stabs and shimmering synth arps. Elements of tribal percussion are pulled into a taut rhythm as snarls of low-slung electronics permeate the mix. A big build/break ramps up the tension, and a spacious yet intense arrangement is carefully constructed.
