::Levantine – Acid Infatuation::
Mexican producer Levantine makes a welcome return to Exploited Club. The ingredients here are turbo-charged and sturdy and the result is a sound that occupies a sweet spot between Eurodance and Italo.
‘Acid Infatuation’ kicks off in hot-headed fashion; a punchy polyrhythm built with bolstered 909s, crystal-shard synths and an angular arp all weaved into a frenzy. A short breakdown provides just enough time to catch breath before the zenith of the track unfolds
‘Kim’s 909 Dream’ then follows up with a patchwork of 90s influences. A mid-heavy 909 is set thudding against the walls while lasers bounce overhead. Choked, open hats and bold vocals generate a formidable energy that continues to layer up before bursting open at the mid point in a manner guaranteed to cause an absolute scene on the floor.
