::Diar Storm, Lost Boy 1984, Play Paul – Everything So Remixes::
The sulky and sultry collaboration between Diar Storm, Lost Boy 1984 and Play Paul gets 2 re-workings courtesy of Indonesian producer Cyda and the venerated Parisian Captain Mustache.
Cyda opens things up, following releases on Love International and Kendal’s Ritmo Fatale with an anthemic take on ‘Everything So’. The teenage spirit of the original remains but is given a set of wings by bold, colourful melodies, 80s toms and an elongated breakdown that cracks open with an infectious zeal.
Captain Mustache then adds to a highly decorated release catalogue – one that’s included an EP for Helena Hauff, LPs for Kompakt and who has been remixed by DMX Krew and Legowelt – with his take on Everything So.
The groove is stripped right back to it’s bones as skeletal 808 drums provide a crisp and clean bed for Storm’s vocals to bleed out with all their raw honesty. Immaculate tones flicker while the energy gently cruises like a night drive adding further facets to a charming addition to the Exploited catalogue.
