Currently in the Top10 of Beatport with ‘Claptone’s – Cream’, here is the next strong release on Exploited in 2012 and it’s already No.1 (with ‘Strange’) and No.2 (with ‘Everyday’) in the Beatport Deephouse Charts.
Exploited presents the Hamburg duo ADANA TWINS – consisting of Take it Easy, the energizer and Freezo, the straight and fluffy guy – who were brought together by the power of good turkish food and the love for grooving house music.
Last year Adana Twins (together with Doctor Dru) were responsible for the most successful tune on Exploited: “JUICY FRUIT” – a slo-mo housed-up boogie-soul joint that found appreciation from a variety of DJs including the likes of Axel Boman, Round Table Knights, Solomun, A-Trak and many more.
Now the boys return with yet another hit: “EVERYDAY” is an updated version of a New Jack Swing Classic that has been getting a lot of support by Solomun of late. Reworked and refreshed its now ready to wreck! And lets not forget, the bonus track “STRANGE”: a secret weapon for the early morning hours.
With DJ names like Take It Easy and Friso, it’s probably to be presumed that German duo Adana Twins don’t take themselves too seriously. That tongue in cheek attitude can be heard on “Everyday”, a delightfully loose and languid cut that sounds like a funkier, groovier and, well, slightly less overbearing take on the work of Benoit & Sergio. Despite being propelled forward by a superb synth bassline, it lazily slips from the speakers rather than jumping towards you like a ninja on speed. “Strange” continues in a similar vein, offering a laidback, Soul Clap style cover of The Doors’ “People Are Strange”. With nice pianos. However odd that may seem on paper, it’s actually superb.
