Dutch duo Homework (comprised of Zip & Tom) succeed in something many other people haven’t lately: making dance music that’s equally satisfying for your feet and brain. Following their head turning debut “Fissa Tune EP” on Exploited, a storming EP (“Trumpet Express”) on Made to Play and a release on Riva Starr’s Snatch!-label (“The Street”), their latest EP “Hudson Square” on Exploited is pure revisionist nostalgia. The “Hudson Square”-EP goes beyond what they had laid out with their previous productions, exploring the soulful&discofied sides of house music and proving once again that Homework will never cling too long to one style or genre. Homework remain commited to pushing all genres of dance music forward and that’s why they fit perfect on Exploited. Homework are there to set musical trends, rather than to follow them. “You have to be able to cut against the grain, get the distance from your peer group.”
Homework have been labelled “Emerging Artists for 2011″ by Beatport.
Remixes for Round Table Knights, their “Rally Racquet”-Single on Made to Play and “Hudson Square Remixes”-EP on Exploited are current favourites of a who is who in dancemusic. Furthermore, Homework released some of their edits on the new sublabel of Exploited: Black Jukebox. With love from Wolf&Lamb, gigs from Panoramabar to Social Club, these guys made a massive step within only 1 year. Back in Middle 2010 they were discovered by Shir Khan and mainly unknown to the public. Expect remixes from them for Crystal Fighters, Duffdisco, Jet Project, Andre Crom&Martin Dawson, an exlusive track for Riva Starr’s Mixmag CD and more.
