‘Lopezhouse have been quietly making impressive musical statements ever since they sauntered onto the global stage in 2015 with their Mude Tod debut EP for Claude Von Stroke‘s Dirtybird. Sure, their tracks work like a charm on the dance floor. But what distinguishes Lopezhouse is how they eschew a cookie-cutter mindset and infuse unconventional ideas into each pristine production.’ (Bigshot Magazine)

DATA TRANSMISSION PREMIERE: GHEIST

August 9, 2017 / Posted by Exploited-Admin (712)

Berlin act GHEIST have made a huge impression since releasing their debut record on Exploited in 2016. Now with regular appearances at Watergate and various summer festival gigs under their belts, three releases on Exploited and a couple with Sasha’s Last Night On Earth as well as a collaboration with HOSH (‘The Watergate Affairs’), they are poised as one of the most promising acts of the current wave. This mesmerising new three-track EP only serves to strengthen their claim.

Our debut transmission ‘Time’ completes this sublime package by way of swirling chimes, throbbing monotone bass and analog bleeps, building up a heady wall of sound before a trademark GHEIST vocal lifts the track into unchartered territory. The sombre tone recalls Depeche Mode, and the idea to use the vocal in the breakdown alone only gives it more impact. It’s also a reminder that this trio bring an element of live electronica and instrumentation to their studio sessions.

ANNIE MAC FROM BBC RADIO 1 PREMIERES NEW TRACK FROM BLACK JUKEBOX 19

July 17, 2017 / Posted by Exploited-Admin (712)

Already getting support from Bicep, Eats Everything, Jimpster, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Laurent Garnier, Tensnake, Ardalan, Waze & Odyssey, Rory Phillips, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Pete Herbert…

Shir Khan’s back with his trusty team of terrace-friendly edit specialists, alchemy masters of turning the raw ore of disco’s past into soundsystem ready house bangers for the outdoor summer parties! James Jackson & Siege are first to step up to the cauldron, throwing in one of the catchiest coastal disco tracks ever into the pot, adding some woodblock (yes!) and applying some gentle low pass filter which teases in the track beautifully. Tiptoes reworks some low slung jazz funk business into a midtempo roller, perfect for that lazy walk to the bar while you top up your margarita or daiquiri, stopping off for a chat with some sexy looking ladies / gents on the way…. Illyus & Barrientos takes us firmly through to late night action on “Bare Fruits” – instantly transporting us to some Iberian sweatbox where the party never stops; and “You Says” which takes us through back into the sunrise and into the next day of holiday partying. Remember, the fun never stops when Shir Khan’s in town.

Do yourself a favor and pick it up before this limited collector’s item sells out. Highly recommended.
