Bas Roos is a DJ and producer from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He started DJ’ing at the age of 16 after spending some time on making his own music. A year later he released his first EP and from that moment on he started to develop a unique and fresh sound which has seen releases on Phil Weeks’ Robsoul Label as well as Shir Khan’s Black Jukebox Disco House Series on Exploited. The 18th Edition of Black Jukebox sees the young producer deliver 4 new tracks which work magic on the dancefloor. Kicking things off with “Downtown”, Roos turns out a rolling terrace friendly house effort, rich in disco’s funk flavour but kicking hard enough for the modern speaker stacks. “One Way” picks up the tempo for a driving house cut, rumbling with basement tickling bassline and lavish piano notes tinkering over the top and finally embellished by a sexy female vocal hook. “Take Life Easy” opens up the B-side as we keep that outdoor house vibe intact. Congas, phazed hats and concentric B-line identify this numbers as a feel good groover for daytime dancing and prancing. Finally “Ugly House” playfully introduces synthetic stabs and squawking vox to the palette, keeping those swinging house drums and infectious bassline rolling throughout. It’s another winner for Shir Khan’s mob and a great introduction to Bas Roos.

Liked by Solomun, Soul Clap/Charlie, Chloe, Whomadewho/Tomas Barfod, Huxley, Citizen, Ardalan, dOP, Kevin Knapp, Acid Pauli, Bryan Kessler, I-Robots, Rainer Trueby, Luna City Express… They made the biggest summer tune on our sub-label last year. Many open airs where we heard ’Golden Girls’ featuring the beautiful vocals from Lazarusman. And it’s still fresh in the clubs. Now it’s about time for a decent follow-up. We welcome back Tigerskin & Jack Jenson. Tigerskin has been a key part of the dance scene for years not only under this name but also as Dub Taylor. His style is deep and atmospheric and works well with Jack Jenson, who he met at Salon Zur Wilden Renate in Berlin (Jack Jenson hosts a successful party event since day 1 at Renate). During their production process they linked up with Brian also known as Aquarius Heaven who normally releases on Circus Company and shares a studio space at Salon Zur Wilden Renate. ’Circles’ is a deep floorfiller for sure. And for those who like it more funky we added ’Somebody’ and ’Ladies Nite’.
“As a celebration of his recent release, he’s provided us with an online snapshot of the tunes he loves to play live in a club setting.” Read more here.

Douglas Greed from Jenas’ ‘Freude Am Tanzen’ Crew (next to Mathias Kaden, Robag Wruhme, Krause Duo) brings his vast talent back to Berlins’ Exploited Records for the second time on “All I Want,” an utterly sublime two-tracker. The rolling title track is a collaboration with singer MAMA (known from her features with Tiefschwarz and Argy) while ‘Beule’ is a delicate techno synth opus.
His production work first caught our ear back in 2013 when we heard his bad-ass cut “Raw & Order” on The Gym’s Muscle Tuff label compilation. “He went on to release acclaimed singles and albums on a variety of respected labels (Kompakt, BPitch
Control, Infiné and Freude Am Tanzen) and has flipped the script in a meaningful way with each release.” (Quote from Big Shot Mag)
