Kyodai means brothers in Japanese and that‘s a good clue for guessing who‘s behind these guys. The Berlin-based brothers were very prolific during the last years. Known for their machine driven funk and techno influence they have an individual and timeless take on house music whether it‘s soulful, melodic or jacking.
The brothers have been on an extraordinary musical journey and the last two years have seen the duo emerge as one of the leading lights on prestigious house labels. They released on Dirt Crew, Exploited, Freerange, Pokerflat and Local Talk just to name a few.
Kyodai gained respect from musical heavy weights like Lauren Garnier, Masters At Work, Jimpster, Gilles Peterson or Rainer Trüby.
Their „Mi Rumba EP“ (Freerange) must have impressed a lot of people as they went on to release their follow up EP „Breaking“ for Mad Mats‘ and Tooli‘s blossoming Local Talk label. „Breaking“ was supported by top names, reached the top list of Gilles Peterson‘s „An All Winners Show“, and was part of the GTA V soundtrack. They also had an EP on Pokerflat called „NeverKnow“. Kerri Chandler dug it enough to include it on his RA podcast and it was also picked up for the „Cielo Compilation“ on Nervous, resulting in many requests for remixes and productions.
